Sofedit are one of the largest automotive pressing companies in the UK. Based in Coventry, the company produces mainly body in white and assemblies for customers such as Peugeot and Jaguar. For their small metal pressing requirements, Sofedit choose to work with Birmingham based, JJ Engineering.

Paul Taylor at Sofedit is responsible for managing the small metal pressings orders and has worked with the team at JJ Engineering for many years “JJ provide us with over 1.4 million pressings each year. Their responsiveness to our requirements is always excellent and they provide us with guaranteed turnaround times from order. This is important to us as we have to make the same commitments to our customers and we rely on our suppliers to meet our promises”.

Paul also works with the JJ Engineering team to manage tooling and gauging for any new product requirements. “The JJ team are very experienced in tooling and are on hand to work with us for any new product requirements. They pay attention to detail, consider the options and work hard for us to get it right”.

Sofedit have to work with a number of pressing companies of which JJ Engineering are one. Flexibility is key to keeping the business relationships in place and says Paul “we work at any one time with 5 or 6 different pressing companies for our different needs. JJ I have to say, is definitely one of our top suppliers. They provide good quality products, on time and are flexible to meet our changing demands, I am happy to recommend them”.
